The Haworth Home and School Association is pleased to announce that our Lunch Program is bigger and better in 2009! Please keep the following important information handy over the next few weeks:
* We ask that if it is at all possible for you to volunteer one or two days this coming year, one or two days each month, or one day each week, that you contact Dina O’Donnell at: HHSALunchVolunteers@gmail.com with the days or dates you are available. Please know that this program can only run if we get enough volunteers each month. If not, the program will have to be suspended until the next month when we can fill our volunteer slots. Every person who volunteers will be contacted, scheduled, and truly appreciated!
* We have expanded our offerings through our local vendors in an effort to appeal to more of our student body.
* Pending Board approval, we hope to begin serving our new orders on
January 20, 2008. This ordering period should last for six weeks. After that we hope to take orders monthly, thereby increasing the variety of food your child is able to enjoy throughout the year.
* Your children will also be able to order a different meal each week. For example, on Tuesday, January 20th, he or she may select a sandwich and then on Tuesday, January 26th, choose a salad, from the one vendor we contracted on Mondays.
*By offering more choices we hope you will find something your child enjoys. Please know that if you order from one of our chosen vendors on a day other than the day they are contracted with us, the HHSA does not receive any benefit.
* We have worked very hard to simplify the ordering process both for you and for our volunteers. Orders will now be taken and must be paid for online with a credit card. There will be a service charge comparable to that which our members were paying to the online lunch company contracted by the district last year.
* We are putting the final touches on our online ordering page and will inform you via Ed Connect as to when you may begin placing your orders.
* If you do not have a computer on which to order, we will have a volunteer available to assist you, however please remember that your order must be paid for with a credit card.
* We encourage you to take your children to try the food they’re interested in before you place your order. Also, please take the time to read our “No Refund Policy” which we’ve posted here REFUND POLICY.
Please know that a program like this requires a team of dedicated individuals working together for the benefit of our association, and for the ultimate benefit of our children. We want you to know that all changes that were made for this next lunch period are a result of feedback our committee received from parents, students, and the volunteers who were present in the cafeteria on a daily basis to serve your children, in addition to the reflections of those who worked behind the scenes to pull this entire program together. With an open mind we welcome your feedback because it helps us to run a successful program. Thank you and we look forward to serving our children!
